Interpretation

I’ve written public-facing, interpretive, and historical content for both museums and commercial clients.

Mobile Interpretation at The New York Botanical Garden:

Due to environmental constraints, the New York Botanical Garden chose to use a mobile website as their main interpretative tool for their headlining exhibitions.  This meant that introductory texts and interpretive object labels  would be viewed on visitors’ phones. For the summer blockbuster exhibition CHIHULY, I wrote interpretive text that described the artworks and glassblowing process, using resources provided by the artist’s studio. For Kiku: Spotlight on Tradition, I transformed content from the exhibition catalogue into content for a mobile device.

Print Interpretation at The New York Botanical Garden:

For Giant Pumpkins in the Everett Children’s Adventure Garden exhibition, the garden opted to use traditional signage and object labels. Using information provided by staff botanists and horticulturists, I wrote family friendly texts and object labels.
